Yesterday whilst painting I heard a show on CBC radio 1, called "Flavour of the week". It's a cooking show that devotes an entire hour to one flavour. Yesterday it was Mint. They raved on and talked to various chefs and bartenders about Moroccan Mint tea, Mohitos, Lamb with mint. Inspired, and with help from the mint growing in my grandmother's garden, I made Moroccan mint tea. It's really quite easy, just take some green tea, a generous helping of fresh mint, a few tablespoons of white sugar, all in a teapot. Pour boiling water over and let sit. It's a very sweet tea, and apparently they drink it all day in Morocco (Milan can probably speak to this). Today I've aquired limes and am going to make mohitos.

It's such a beautiful day, I can see the sea. Maybe I'll get that Canon A550 and then you'll be able to see it aswell.

So now I'm going to be in Chemainus at least a while longer painting, and I'll probably get one or maybe 2 days on the show next week. Superfun! Maybe I'll go to the wrap party!

I'm not sure about camping this weekend. If some people are interested, I'm game. But I'm not going by myself. Also, I might want to paint those days. Get in touch with me if you're interested, as I can probably put off the painting till next week.

So, on account of the producers being huge nOObs, I'm quitting the show. Also, because I've only been scheduled for one more day in the last 2 weeks. 1 day in 2 weeks? I think I can do better in Vancouver. I've got some painting to finish up tomorrow, but I think I'll catch a late ferry home after diner. The late ones run half empty, way to go, MARKET. To be perfectly fair the ferries want to let the market take care of that problem by lowering the cost of late night ferries.

Since the best boss in the history of capitalism, (I don't mind mentioning that his name is Robert Fucking Miller), quit last friday, work hasn't been the same. The new ALM is nice, but basically he's just a tool.

Anyway, see me back on the mainland soon.

Ok,

So my BC day long weekend is open. I'm on the island, I have a car. Who wants to go camping on BC day? I'm thinking maybe, Saltspring? Ruckly point park? We'd have to get there super early to get a spot, but I think I can manage that. There is a ferry to Saltspring that leaves from 20 min from where I live so I can take the first ferry over on the saturday, claim the spot, then pick people up from the other ferry.

If your interested, or have other ideas for an amazing plan, give me a comment.

So, I live on the island now. I hope the BBQ went well. Kerrie, why didn't you call me? Anyway, call me.

Also, I have no friends on the island. So, if you are my friend, (hey - Brie, you're on the island, arn't you?) Call me. And we'll hook up. Not in the sexual way. I have this wensday off aswell as the coming weekend. My cell is 778-232-3123. Actually, tommorow I should be off at a reasonable time, albeit in Victoria. Agh! I hate commuting! 16.5 hrs work plus 1.2 hrs commuting each way equals WAY TOO LONG DAY.

But, on the other hand, I do have the best boss in the history of capitalism. Also, Hollis Woods is a super fun show to work on. I've made aquaintence with lots of cool crew members, and lots of them are nice. Only the standard super-high stress positions are not filled by chill folks. But I can't blame them; if I had their job I'd be ultra stressed too.

And you're interested in how vision works, and my rantings about aperture and brain image-construction confuse you, ken rockwell has built a wonderful write-up on how people see.

I am employed - as a PA on some show on Van Island. I'm headed over there today. That means - unfortunately, that my Birthday (july 4th) will go uncelebrated. However, Cabin Feever is unnafected (I'm getting the afternoon off to come back over and drive up).

I will be changing my phone number but NOT UNTIL NEXT WEEK because of Cabin Feever, I'm going to wait till after that's over before making everyone change the number in their phones.

That is all

Is a film made by two people in New York. You can watch it completely on Youtube until august 15th.

It is a film made retrospectively about a couple who met and developed their relationship using only "artistic medium" - writing and sending each other video clips. They did not speak. For months. Eventually they did speak, and decided to make a film about their relationship.

They are a bit insane.

But all artists are a bit insane. They've made something pretty special. So, I recommend you take a look at the film. If you like the film, you can go from their website to spout.com and sign up and it gives them a dollar. They've already raised 30000$ that way. Not too bad. They are still very poor. But mostly they're interesting. I think you will like the film.

Turns out, I've decided getting over to Saturna this Canada day, because of the schedule, is going to be just too difficult.

Sorry about that.
